Sinds 1 februari 2022 ben ik werkzaam als orthopedisch chirurg in het Ikazia ziekenhuis.

Orthopedische chirurgie is een technisch en praktisch vak waarbij de nadruk ligt op verbetering van kwaliteit van leven. Dat kan vaak, maar hoeft zeker niet altijd met een operatie. In de orthopedie geldt bij uitstek dat een bepaald probleem niet voor elke patiënt tot dezelfde behandeling hoeft te leiden. De kunst is voor mij dan ook om samen met de patiënt tot de behandeling met het beste eindresultaat te komen.

Na de studie Geneeskunde in Nijmegen ben ik opgeleid tot orthopedisch chirurg in cluster Oost (Sint Maartenskliniek, RadboudUMC, Rijnstate). Na afronding van mijn specialisatie in 2016 heb ik enkele jaren als orthopedisch chirurg gewerkt in Apeldoorn en Zutphen, waar ik me voornamelijk op prothesiologie van heup en knie heb toegelegd.

Tijdens twee fellowships in Auckland, Nieuw-Zeeland heb ik me daarna verder gespecialiseerd in schouderproblematiek en hand-/pols chirurgie, inclusief traumatologie.

Naast mijn werk als orthopedisch chirurg ben ik actief als toezichthouder in de zorg en heb als zodanig zitting in de Raad van Commissarissen van een grote ondersteunende organisatie voor huisartsenzorg in de regio Arnhem.
